I
believe today more than ever we need opportunities to interact
with our neighbors. In this age of technology, that
need sometimes can be reduced but that is how I conceived
of Hey Neighbor!
The
possibility that an item you require is sitting around the
corner just waiting for a new home or a that a local
group's next volunteer project is across the street from
them compelled this site. By dedicating a website to
the exchanging of nearby goods and services, volunteerism
and community-building and the closening of neighborhood
businesses and their primary customers, we can more easily
enrich our surroundings and each other close to home.
I
can't wait to look outside and see people sharing wheelbarrows,
Mom groups meeting at the Park, walking groups cruising along
the sidewalks, volunteers repairing a neighbor's garage and
families headed to a nearby restaurant who just advertised
a great deal online!
I
want this site to facilitate that by harmonizing our daily
needs with our neighborly sentiments. You can discuss
neighborhood news, check out local businesses, look for
volunteer projects, announce garage sales, neighborhood
meetings or just say "Hey Neighbor!
